Tom is a partner in the firm's Litigation, Intellectual Property, Advertising & Marketing Groups.
He specialises in intellectual property, media and entertainment law and commercial litigation with a particular expertise in trade mark, copyright and contractual matters and defamation. Tom has been involved in numerous reported trials and appearances in the High Court and has extensive mediation experience. He provides advertising clearance and compliance support as well as regulatory advice regarding the OFT, the ASA and the MHRA. Tom is an active member of Adlaw International, a global network of specialist advertising lawyers. Tom started his career as an investment banker in the City and in Paris before training as a solicitor and qualifying with a leading West End media and entertainment practice. He joined Swan Turton from the Asian office of a global intellectual property consultancy where, amongst other clients, he managed the Motion Picture Association's local anti-copyright piracy programme.
