David heads the firm's Corporate Group and acts for a wide range of clients including start ups, SMEs and individuals (including start up and other entrepreneurs) on all their corporate and commercial law requirements. This includes advising companies, their investors and advisors on corporate finance matters (including private equity and venture capital transactions), mergers and acquisitions, IPOs (particularly on the AIM and PLUS Markets) and financial regulatory matters.

Most recently, David has advised upon:

• the placing of working capital loan note for a windpower developer;
• the structuring and execution of the sale of a significant minority stake in an oil investment company;
• the placing of a working capital loan note for a US based entity specialising in technologies for Wastewater Recovery and Clean Electric Power;
• the sale of a music samples company to the US based recognized leader of electronic music downloads;
• the negotiation of a long-term media equipment rental agreement for a major national sports stadium;
• the negotiation of a digital media content and services agreement in respect of one of the UK’s largest retail suppliers.

David's employment practice includes advising on the misuse of confidential information and the enforceability of restrictive covenants. He specialises in advising on senior level employment contracts and terminations and also drafts employment documentation including contracts and staff handbooks. He has conducted several cases in the employment tribunal in respect of discrimination, unfair dismissal and redundancy.David joined Swan Turton as a partner in February 2008 from a Mayfair-based specialist corporate and commercial practice. David trained and qualified with a leading City law firm.
