Alastair is a commercial litigation partner in our Dispute Resolution Group. He advises clients in relation to a broad range of commercial disputes including contractual and financial services related matters (whether pursued via court proceedings, arbitration, mediation or other means of ADR). He has acted for a wide range of clients including individuals, start-ups and listed companies.
Alastair has considerable experience in dealing with complex, high profile and often multi-jurisdictional disputes. Examples include: Tajik Aluminium Plant v Mr Ermatov and others; General Motors Corp v Royal Sun Alliance and others; Sinclair Investment Holdings SA v Cushnie & Ors; JSC BTA Bank v Mr Ablyazov and others.
Alastair is a solicitor advocate. He is a committee member of the British Kazakh Law Association and is a regular speaker at conferences (eg English Law Week in Moscow) and seminars (eg for British Embassy Commercial Officers based overseas - including China, USA, Brazil, Qatar, UAE, Taiwan, Turkey, Nigeria, Israel and elsewhere).
Alastair joined Swan Turton in January 2012 from a specialist commercial litigation practice. He trained with a leading City law firm. He speaks French and Italian.
